The USC Value Investing Group formed in the spring of 2009 with the aim to create a community of high-achieving students with a passion for value investing. The group prides itself on its intellectual rigor, elite membership and vast industry knowledge and contacts. Our mission is to maintain the learning-centric community envisioned by the founders where members can start on life’s path towards reaching investing excellence by exploring valuation methodologies, stock selection practices and market evaluation strategies. Those select students accepted as members into the group have the opportunity to learn and work with senior members.
The Value Investing Group has the privilege of representing the University of Southern California at annual stock pitch competitions across the nation including Michigan, Harvard and Georgetown. Additionally, VIG founded the inaugural West Coast stock conference at USC in 2016 and has since annually hosted schools from across the country. The Value Investing Group has received numerous awards including: Third Place at the Michigan Stock Pitch Competition in Fall 2015 pitching Michael Kors, First Place at the Georgetown Stock Pitch Conference in Spring 2014 and the "Best Idea" distinction at the Harvard Competition in Fall 2014.
